There's a quaint cafe that I discovered last Labor Day at the 6th floor of the Shangri-La Plaza East Wing called Gigi Coffee & Cupcakes. If you can't immediately spot it, just look for Shelter Home & Design, the two are sharing a space.
iced Lemongrass Tea 16oz. PhP 80 and Gigi's best-selling cupcakes for PhP 50 each
I miss boiling lemongrass or tanglad at home that's why I ordered one. Lemongrass has many medicinal benefits- anti-fungal, pain reliever and repair damaged tissues among others. You can learn more about the benefits of Lemongrass here.
Aside from Lemongrass Tea, we also ordered Americano PhP 80 and Cappuccino PhP 95 (not in the photo).
All drinks are available hot or iced. Some like the Organic Tea Bag, Mocha and Chocolate can even be blended into frappe.
Red Velvet cupcake
We ordered the top three best-selling Gigi cupcakes- Red Velvet, Green Tea and Lemon.
Green Tea cupcake
I liked all three cupcakes but my favorite is Lemon, you can taste a hint of lemon in every bite. All cupcakes were moist and compact.
You can buy 6 cupcakes for a discounted price of PhP 285 and a box of 12 for only PhP 550.

If you are at Gigi Coffee & Cupcakes make sure that you don't forget to order her famous custaroons. Yes, this coffee and cupcake shop is also owned by Gigi Gaerlan of The Custaroonery fame.
What is a custaroon?
A deliciously unique combination of smooth and creamy flan topped with a chewy, buttery crust.
Gigi's custaroon is a tad too sweet for me. I think I should have bought the bite-sized ones. A box of 30 (half cheese/half original) bite-sized custaroons cost only Php 450.
Okay, that's all I can share for now. I have tons of stories to tell, I just don't have time to write everything in one seating.
Have a blessed weekend!
