I look forward to our family date every weekend. Yesterday, DH took us to another new restaurant along Banawe Ave., in Quezon City called Ching Kee Beef Noodles.

Beef Kenchi Noodle Php 180 |
At first, I was a bit hesitant to eat at this hole in wall noodle place because I am not really fond of noodles. All that changed after I get to taste this piping hot bowl of Beef Kenchi Noodle. The soup tasted so good (...tama ang timpla), the Beef Kenchi was oh-so-tender and the noodles were cooked just right.
It reminded me of another tiny restaurant in Hong Kong called Mak's Noodle located in Wellington St., Central right across an expensive looking restaurant. Little did I know that it was one of the few restaurants that the world renowned American Chef/Author/Television Personality, Anthony Michael Bourdain, once ate and gave his "seal of approval". I saw his photos and articles side by side with the menu sandwiched in between the glass and the table.
Special Shrimp Wanton Platter Php 280 |
For me, the real star of the night is the Special Shrimp Wanton since I am not really into noodles,. We ordered two because one platter was not enough. There are 10 pieces of shrimp wanton in every order. Inside the thin wonton wrappers were the plumpest and succulent shrimps that I have ever tasted!
Braised Egg Php 25 |
The menu is pretty simple. One page is devoted to the different beef parts like Ngau Chap, Tendon, Brisket, Goto, Kenchi and a combination of the ingredients mentioned above. You can choose your own noodle like egg noodles, flat noodles and rice noodles. You can also opt to choose Tossed Noodle with Separate Soup, just add Php 20.
Braised Tofu Php 80 |
At the back of the menu, is the Platter selection where you can order a whole platter of the different beef parts, Plain Wanton Php 200, Special Shrimp Wonton, Taiwan Pechay Php 120, Braised Tofu Php 80, Braised Egg Php 25, Plain Rice Php 30 and Plain Soup Php 20.
