Boqueria Restaurante Chocolateria in SM MEGA Fashion Hall | Restaurant Review


While I was in SM Mega Fashion Hall a week ago, I spotted Boqueria Restaurante Chocolateria. A  SOFT OPENING sign on the door didn't stop me from giving this new restaurant a try. The words "The Best Hot Chocolate from Madrid is now in Manila" caught my attention instead. I had to try it and it was love at first sip...

Boqueria's Signature Hot Chocolate PhP 98

Now that I have experience Boqueria's Signature Hot Chocolate, I can say that I found the ONE! It is handcrafted with exceptional quality and taste of Valor Chocolates from Madrid, Spain. A tiny cup is worth every peso, even my little princess loved it.


Pato y Pollo con Adobo PhP 208

These shredded duck meat and chicken were fried to a crisp with lots and lots of garlic on top. I liked it but there are other appetizers that I would love to try on my next visit like Gambas a la Ajillo and Salpicao. 


Sopa de Mariscos PhP 168

I ordered a seafood soup (mussels, clams and shrimp) so that #babyMartinez will have something to eat. Sopa de Mariscos isrich and very flavorful. It has a lot of seafood ingredient hidden in this tiny casserole.

Pescado en Salsa Verde PhP 308

I thought that I was just ordering a fish. I didn't know that there will be a lot more than just fish in Pescado en Salsa Verde as you can see in this photo. Suffice to say, we had seafood overload that day.


Paella Queso Manchego PhP 398

I am saving the best for last...  Paella Queso Manchego. It is paella with Spanish chorizo and Manchego cheese. It's so yummy, I can't get enough of it!

Little did I know that this restaurant is the newest baby of Marvin Agustin, an actor-turned-restaurateur. You know how I feel about all his Japanese restaurants.  If I had known in the beginning that THIS is one of his restaurant, I would not dare step in and try. Good thing, I didn't or I would have missed a savoury Spanish restaurant like Boqueria. I think Marvin has finally found his niche in the food business.
