Crazy Line At Tim Ho Wan On A Sunday | Restaurant Review

My family and I went to SM Megamall two Sundays ago because DH wanted to eat at Tim Ho Wan for lunch. As I have expected, the line was super long so we ended up eating at Osaka Ohsho instead.

Good thing my parents and sibings went to SM Megamall in the afternoon. It was my brother who waited in line for 30 minutes before he was able to secure a table for the 7 of us (#babyMartinez included!).

Since it's merienda time, we didn't expect to see that many diners but we were surprised to see that the restaurant was still full to capacity.

Baked Pork Buns  (3pcs.) PhP 145

We ordered 5 of these famous baked pork buns. We ate three and took home two. The next day, DH just pop it inside an oven toaster and it tasted just as good as when it was served in the restaurant.

Rice with Beef and Fried Egg PhP 180
Beef Ball with Beancurd Skin (3pcs.) PhP 120

The beef in rice with beef and fried egg and beef ball with beancurd skin tasted the same. We didn't like it. I would skip these two and order something else like baked pork buns maybe lol

Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf PhP 190

Or you can try glutinous rice with lotus leaf instead. This is very filling. If you are eating lunch at Tim Ho Wan might as well order one.

You don't want to miss these three items on the menu...

Steam Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp (3pcs.) PhP 120

Wasabi Salad Prawn Dumpling (3 pcs.) PhP 140

We chose to order only one item under the Deep Fried category- Wasabi Salad Prawn Dumpling. It's like eating a hot prawn salad in a dumpling... yummy ; )

Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce PhP 120

 I love their version of pork rib with black bean sauce, a bit spicy!

Pan Fried Carrot Cake (3pcs.) PhP  145

One of the items uner Big 4 Heavenly Kings is Pan Fried Carrot Cake. This is like eating a turnip cake only this time carrot was used as its main ingredient.

Vermicelli Roll with Shrimp PhP 190

Vermicelli Roll and Prawn Dumplings tasted the same, I suggest that you order the former if you are dining with a big group.

Poached Seasonal Vegetable PhP 90

As usual, DH ordered poached seasonal vegetable. The local version is better than the one we had in Hong Kong.

Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake (3 pcs.) PhP 90

I am so happy that Tim Ho Wan is serving my favorite dessert-Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake. It's like eating a jelly with stuffing inside.

Mango Pomelo Sago PhP90

If I have to choose one dessert, I would pick Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake over Mango Pomelo Sago. I am sorry to say na hindi bagay ang combination ng pomelo at mango.

Cold Barley Water and Iced Tea PhP 50 each

When we asked for the bill, I gasp! Our total amount was close to PhP 4,000... ack! Mas mahal pa sa Gloria Maris. I guess since we were first-timers, we got excited and ordered pretty much everything that was on the menu hehe

Matatagalan pa siguro bago kami bumalik sa Tim Ho Wan. Maybe when people are not as excited anymore and there's no need to fall in line just to eat dimsum.
