Senor Pollo... Was it Worth The Wait?

Finally, after several attempts to dine in Senor Pollo Famous Latin Chicken, my family and I were able to try the most elusive restaurant on my list last Sunday evening. We didn't want to take any chances so we went there at around 6pm. To our surprise, the place was already packed with only one table left near the bar. We felt cramped and our movements were limited within the confines of the little restaurant.

Senor Pollo Roast with 2 sides Php 329

We wasted no time and ordered half chicken Senor Pollo Roast with 2 sides- Jalapeno Mac & Cheese and Columbian Beans. I don't know if the chicken was supposed to be served hot/warm but the one we had was already at room temperature. I think it would make a huge difference especially in taste if the chicken served came straight from the roaster to our table. There's Chimichurri sauce- a special sauce mix of parsley, garlic and olive oil, served on the side.

Senor Pollo Roast Half Chicken is also available without any sides for only Php 259. Other options are Whole Roast Chicken with 2 Regular Sides Php 580 (Php 480 no sides), Fried Chicken (8 pieces) with 2 Regular Sides Php 580 (Php 480 no sides) and Quarter Chicken with 2 Regular Sides for only Php 225 (Php 144 no sides).

Jalapeno Mac & Cheese Php 70, Columbian Beans Php 60, Latin Coleslaw Php 60 & Fries Php 45

Surprisingly, my daughter loved Senor Pollo's Jalapeno Mac & Cheese. She was able to finish half an order. We also had Columbian Beans. I was expecting it to be on the sweeter side like Rack's BBQ Baked Beans but it wasn't. DH finished the entire order though. The Latin Coleslaw took a little time before I was able to enjoy it. I was able to eat the entire order without sharing them with DH, I guess it was an acquired taste. The fries were fresh-cut potatoes so I gave it my thumbs up!

Cheese & Garlic Php 129

When in Senor Pollo, you must order Cheese and Garlic Quesadillas. I know the restaurant was supposed to be famous for its Latin Chicken but we were not impressed at all with its main course. However, we both loved its Cheese & Garlic Quesadillas. It was served with cheese oozing out of its tortilla. I also loved the dipping sauce served on the side.

Lechon Asado with Cilantro Garlic Rice Php 240

The Lechon Asado was tasty on its own even without dipping it in sauce which left an unpleasant after taste. The meat was tender and the skin was crispy.

Lechon Asado is available in 1 kilo order for only Php 470.

Southern Iced Tea Php 75

I love, love Senor Pollo's Southern Iced Tea! Do not miss this when you dine in.

The question was it worth the wait? No, simply because we were not impressed with the chicken served to us. We expected more flavor from the Famous Latin Chicken.

Senor Pollo famous Latin Chicken is located in Unit 2 F7 Building 49 Scout Rallos St., Tomas Morato Ave, Laging Handa, Quezon City 351 7235.
