'Firsts'

My daughter will turn five years old in a few days. It seems like only yesterday when I witnessed so many firsts in her life. I can still vividly remember the first time she uttered the word " ma-ma", when she took her first step, and also her first birthday celebration.

As a first time mom, I also remember all the struggles I faced especially in dealing with cleaning her poo, potty training, and cleaning her ears. Oh, how can I forget all those so-called "mishaps" I encountered!

And what better way to showcase it all by holding a Sanicare Hygiene Care Circle event. It was held last July 25 at The Makati Diamond Residences.

It was an event of many 'firsts' that's why I was thrilled to be one of the mommy bloggers who witnessed not only the unveiling of these new, innovative products from different Sanicare lines but also the announcement of its first ever brand ambassador- Bianca Gonzales-Intal.

According to Sanicare Marketing Director Ms. Lea Sio Pacis, Bianca is the perfect choice to represent the brand and not just because she has been a long-time Sanicare user. "Bianca represents the mom of today. She is independent and hardworking but her priority is always caring for her husband and baby, " said Ms. Pacis.

"As a brand under Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. (SCPA), Sanicare has always been committed to upholding the value of hygiene by creating innovating ways to make sure that every Filipino gets the quality hygienic products that they deserve, " explained Ms. Pacis. This is why Sanicare is appropriately called, "The Hygienic Choice."

Kitchen, Personal and Baby Care Stations

Upon entering the venue, there were three stations- Kitchen, Personal and Baby Care. Sanicare tapped three mommy bloggers to be at the stations to give out hygiene tips to their fellow moms. All of them shared relatable scenarios that mothers encountered in their day to day activities.

First stop is the Baby Care Station. Sarah Tirona showed the attendees how useful is the Sanicare Jumbo Cotton Balls in efficiently cleaning the baby's genitals especially after poop. What I like about it is that it is extra large in size therefore more surface is cleaned with one swipe. Did I mention that it is made from 100% soft and pure cotton? Sanicare surely knows how to take care of your baby's sensitive skin. 

Sarah also mentioned Sanicare Baby Underpads. How I wish I had these back when my little princess was still a baby. Because then I would not have to experience the mess I had to deal with leaky and non-absorbent rubber mat especially when the poop gets onto it. These disposable underpads are made of super soft non-woven material which allows moisture to quickly pass through, leaving the surface dry and comfortable. That's only the top layer and there are four more- made of tissue paper (second layer), made of a special mixture of absorbent powder and pulp that quickly converts liquid to gel droplets (third layer), made of tissue paper (fourth layer), and fifth layer is made of PE plastic backing to help prevent leakage and protects the surface beneath the pad. Whew-- that's a lot of layers if you ask me! It just goes to show that it is perfectly designed for baby.

Sanicare introduced an unscented, soft and cloth-like baby wipes. These are ideal even for newborn babies as these do not contain methylparaben and methylisothiazolinone which can disrupt your baby's endocrine system and correspondingly his physiological development. Sarah showed a mommy hack wherein moms can convert a hanging shoe rack into a baby essential storage you can place near the crib. You can place the wipes in it for easy reach. 

Earlier, I mentioned how I had a hard time cleaning not just my daughter's ears, but her nose as well. Not anymore with Sanicare Cotton Buds, as it now comes in two designs- Mini and Large. Mini Cotton Buds is used to pull the filth out of the baby's nose to avoid damage on the lining of nose which might cause bleeding while the Large Cotton Buds has a big tip or safety rim that acts as a stopper to prevent eardrum piercing and/or to limit penetration. 

Next stop was the Kitchen Station. Mommy Frances Sales showed the many uses of Sanicare Kitchen towels. It has moisture locking technology that makes it super absorbent. Moms can use it dry baby bottles with just one sheet. You may use it to catch the extra oil that spills onto the side of the bottle after you pour the oil out by first folding a sheet of tissue then wrapping it around the bottle and secure it with a rubber band.

The final stop was the Personal Station. Shari Macainag shared how she always has Sanicare Facial Tissue Travel Packs in her pocket. When the need arises, she always has it within reach. That's a great idea that I plan to do from now on. You will never know when you'll need it most especially when you go to a public toilet, as not all cubicles have tissue paper. Each sheet has no artificial whitener or Fluorescent Whitening Agent that causes cancer. It is elemental chlorine free. It's made from 100% Virgin Pulp so it is perfectly hygienic and safe for your family's use.

How many times have you got to use dirty public restrooms because you really got to pee or worse poo? Thank goodness, Sanicare now has disposable toilet seat covers. It's main purpose is to protect the toilet's user from germs that may be resting on the seat by creating a protective barrier. Thus, reducing the passing of germs, bacteria and viruses to keep you and your children healthier.

Afterwards, in the fun Q&A game which my team mates and I won by the way, moms got more tips from Bianca, the new Sanicare brand ambassador. I really learned a lot about hygiene in one afternoon and how Sanicare truly cares for Filipino families by providing quality hygienic products. I hope to one day pass everything I learned to my daughter when she grows up.
