My friends treated me to a scrumptious lunch at Magnum Manila. We were there for a late lunch. Yes, Magnum Manila also serves savory food aside from indulging you with ice cream pleasure. The savory menu is courtesy of one of my favorite chefs, Chef Him Uy De Baron of Nomama fame.
Cookie Dough Skillet PhP 300 |
I can't get Cookie Dought Skillet off my mind so I am putting this on my priority list of must-order dessert ; p
That's two vanilla Magnum bars over warm chocolate chip cookie dough with dark chocolate and chopped pecans on top... totally awesome!
Asian Steak Salad PhP 380 |
If the steak on salad is as good as the one listed in the main course, I will order it on my next visit. The steak was grilled just right. Can you see the pinkish color of the meat? There's also corn, wonton skins and candied nuts mixed with greens in siracha and honey dressing.
Cajun Spiced Chicken Poppers PhP 180 |
We ordered two Cajun Spiced Chicken Poppers because one is not enough. Really! The chicken was crunchy and the glazed sauce was yummy.
Onion Rings PhP 150 |
I can't say the same for the onion rings. It was boring so you might just want to skip ordering this and save yourself PhP 150.
Bacon Fat Fries PhP 215 |
Bacon Fat Fries looked interesting to order when you glanced at the menu but it was a bit disappointing to see that it was just fries topped with bits of bacon. Too much expectation, perhaps?

I am not fond of pasta so I can't say much about this carbonara except that it maybe lacking in sauce.
Seared Salmon with Basil Creme ad Chorizo Confit PhP 450 |
Correct me if I am wrong but this salmon looked and tasted like it was deep fried. It would have tasted better if this was baked instead.
Red Velvet PhP 250 |
I love desserts. I am not one to skip it when I see one or in our case, three, on the table... especially if one of them is Red Velvet. This order has two of my favorite- moist red velvet cake and cream cheese. There's vanilla Magnum on top dipped in dark chocolate sauce with crushed pistachios and red velvet crumble.

Rainbow Dream PhP 250 |
Rainbow Dream is a slice of cream cheese rainbow cake with white chocolate covered vanilla Magnum bar covered in dreamy rainbow cake crumble. There's a strawberry on top of a whipped cream. It was a perfect birthday cake.
