Hay... 'di na nawalan ng sipon si DH! It all started when we went to SM MOA two Sundays ago because he attended an expo at SMX. It was raining the whole time we were there, the wind was gusting by evening. It was so hard to walk from point A to point B, the wind was pushing me in one direction.

Anyway, we don't have a clue where to eat for dinner until DH spotted Santouka Hokkaido Ramen. The restaurant was full but there was no receptionist to be found. Some frazzled waitresses saw us but not even one came to accommodate us.

We were hungry, left with no other choice- we don't like to go out and face the gusting wind again, I walked towards one of the waitresses only to be told that the one vacant table was reserved. Okay... fine. I said we are willing to wait.
It's so hard to get the attention of the servers especially if you are seated at the far end of the restaurant. If you have been to Santouka SM MOA branch, you would understand what I mean.

I upgraded the size of my ramen to regular since I am sharing my bowl with my little girl. I chose Shoyu (Soy Sauce) as base. You can also choose Shio (Salt), Miso (Soybean paste) or Kara-Miso (Hot Soybean Paste) just add PhP 20.
Each Santouka Set Menu comes with a small size ramen, rice bowl, komi-tamago. tsukemono, salad and tea. Other ramen sets are Pork Cutlet (Set A) PhP 520, Fried Chicken (Set C) PhP 490, Fried Salmon (Set D) PhP 470, Fried Salmon & Prawn (Set E) PhP 500, Char Sui (Set F) PhP 450, Curry (Set G) PhP 450 and Salmon Roe (Set H) PhP 640.
Unlimited Rice comes only in the following sets: A, B, C, D & E.

Poor service aside, we enjoyed our Hokkaido ramen experience. It seems to me that there was no manager to be found that day maybe the management could teach its staff the value of service in their business.

Other ramen places I have visited are Ippudo in SM Mega Fashion Hall, Ramen Nagi in Robinsons Magnolia and Nomama Restaurant in Quezon City.
