Selfie 101: Tips On How To Take A Flawless Selfie

My blog is a one-woman team. I am the blogger and at the same time the photographer so most often than not, you will see selfie photos especially when I am reviewing beauty products.

According to Wikipedia, Selfie is a self-portrait, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfie photos are often shared on social media networking services such as but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram. Most selfies are taken with a camera held at arm's length or pointed at a mirror; A photo of oneself, taken by oneself.

Here are some tips on how to take a flawless selfie...

NATURAL LIGHT

Face an open window during the day. Natural light works wonderfully on my skin and yours too! No need for filters, really!

Trivia: When I was just starting with my blog, DH saw me tinkering with my camera's settings and playing with the position of the beauty products I was supposed to take photo of. He told me to take my camera and products out into our garden and use the natural light. Girl, I was really glad I listened to him. From then on, my photos are better, brighter and clearer!

AIM HIGH, TILT DOWN

To hide my flaws (chubby cheeks and double/triple chin), my camera angle is always higher than my face and then I tilt it down a bit. Project, project, project!

KNOW YOUR PROFILE

Practice, practice, practice! Face the mirror, turn to the left then to the right. Can you spot which angle flatters your facial feature more?

SMILE

Be confident! If you can't smile then smize- smile with your eyes! Take that extra effort to smile at the camera so people can see that you are having fun!
