If you are born between 1970s and 1990s, you might be familiar with the chewy and creamy White Rabbit milk candy. It is also known for its edible rice paper and the distinct blue, red and white packaging.
White Rabbit Milk Tea
Aside from the creamy candy, did you know that there's a cup of hand-made White Rabbit Milk Tea available? I was surprised to see that the brand has a Do It Yourself (DIY) milk tea drink so I bought it right away. This variant is Genki Black Milk Tea.
White Rabbit Milk Tea cup contains the following:
- Tea Bag
- Milk Powder
- Nata
- Condensed Milk
White Rabbit Milk Tea | Preparation Method
- Place tea bag inside the cup
- Steep in hot water (above 85°C) for *3 minutes
- Pour milk powder and Nata
- Add condensed milk according to your preferred sweetness
- Stir gently
- Add ice if you like cold drink!
I poured all the condensed milk in the cup. I expected it to be too sweet but it tasted just alright. The tea was drink was creamy but a bit bland actually. Hmmm...maybe I should have steeped the tea bag for a longer period on my next purchase. I was afraid that I might experience acidity since it is a black tea. I just simmer the tea bag for only 3 minutes as instructed.
*longer time for stronger tea flavor
In terms of add-ons, I like pearls more than nata in my milk tea drink so this White Rabbit Milk Tea is quite lacking in taste. It definitely did not satisfy my milk tea cravings.
White Rabbit Milktea has 3 more flavors to choose from:
- French Vanilla
- Peach Oolong
- Rocksalt Cheese
