Last Sunday, my family and I went to City Hideaway in Antipolo City to attend a swimming party. Right after lunch, we went to Victorino's, a restaurant along Scout Rallos cor. 11th Jamboree St. in Quezon City to try out Ilocano dishes for a change.

Upon entering the restaurant, I felt like I was transported back in the time of Maria Clara. Take this section, for example, it displayed various products from Ilocos. There's even a huge antique cabinet that adds a vintage feel to the whole venue. Event the lighting used was well-thought-out.

I learned that this restaurant is owned by Dina Bonnevie. Yes, the actress who is also the wife of Ilocos Sur Vice Governor, DV Savellano. She partnered with Pastry Chef Heny Sison whose cakes were on display. There were at least 10 cakes to choose from, each varying in price.
Too bad I didn't get to taste the yema balls (PhP 18/piece). It was out of stock that afternoon. My brother was raving about it.

Victorino's squash soup has malunggay mix in it. If only #babyMartinez was with me, I would have ordered this bowl of soup for her. She was so tired from swimming so we drove her home so she could sleep. I will bring her here on my next visit.

This is my second time to try a pako salad, the first time was at Bale Dutung back in 2011.
Pako or fern is a type of veggie exotic in other countries but it can be easily grown in our own backyard.

Mango Chocolate Torte was suggested by the waiter that attended to us. It tasted just like Conti's frozen Mango Bravo, only this one is bigger.
