Sulyap Bed & Breakfast Gallery Cafe | Casa De Obando Boutique Hotel

When we travel, my hubby plans our itinerary because he manages our budget. He's the one who books flight and accommodation as well while I am in charge of packing EVERYTHING we need in our luggage. It works well every single time.

During our road trip, from Villa Escudero in Tiaong, Quezon to Hidden Valley in Alaminos, Laguna the following day, we needed a place to sleep. Upon searching online for accommodation, my husband found Sulyap Gallery Cafe, Boutique Hotels, and Restaurant formerly known as Casa De Obando Bed & Breakfast in San Pablo, Laguna.

Sulyap Casa De Obando | Room Tour and Review

From the reviews I read online, many suggested to book the room on the second floor. Why? Because it's an old house and the floor creaks when you walk on it. Luck was on our side, we were able to book a room on the second floor. We tried to be considerate to the occupants on the ground floor by not making too much noise especially when we walk around the room.

The interior of the room reminded me of my maternal grandparent's house, including the old cabinet, the round light switches, and the capiz windows. The air-conditioned room has a TV right across the bed. It also has a table and two chairs by the entrance.

remember these light switches in the olden days?
The toilet was leaking though (as seen in the photo above). I hope the management is able to fix it by now.

Just right outside our door is the veranda where you can lounge in style in these Silya- Filipino, vintage chairs.

Sulyap Gallery

Before checking-in, we were able to visit Sulyap Gallery and the museum. One of the staff gave us a quick tour just before closing time. The guide was very engaging and even told us various stories during the Spanish era.

It was our wedding anniversary weekend and we had dinner al fresco. The restaurant offers good food that is why it is almost always full. Reservation is a must.

At the time we visited, there was a development on one side of the property. We entered a gate and found newly built rooms and two swimming pools.

Over all, we had a pleasant overnight stay at Sulyap Gallery Cafe. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel/bed and breakfast for family travelers like us who needed a place for short term stay in between road trips.
