It's Just Another Quarantine Birthday

Before this month of May ends, let me write about my second birthday celebration in times of Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike last year where there were only the three of us who celebrated my birthday, this year I celebrated it with my parents and sister.

In my pre-pandemic life, I used to have a month long birthday celebration. Now, it takes a lot of getting used to to celebrate the occasion with only my immediate family.

45 and Counting!

This year I turned 45. My daughter excitedly woke me up and presented a breakfast in bed. DH cooked his quarantine specialty- Omelette and Cheese with chips on the side. After dressing up, I went to the laundry area and did my usual routine. No free pass for this birthday girl!

And just like last year, a lot of my friends sent food my way. One friend ordered my favorite Coffee Jelly drink and bread from Starbucks and a relative even sent a sack of rice ; )

a coffee sponge cake topped with a heaping amount of heavenly mascarpone cream!

We all loved Tsoko.PH's Mascarpone cake. I thought the mascarpone cream would be too sweet for my taste but it was divine. My parents commented that the sponge cake almost tasted like Hizon's cake. Best of all, it was priced just right. I highly recommend it to all my friends.

I ordered another cake from The Beehive Pastries. I also ordered my birthday cake from them last year. This is a classic chocolate cake covered with Kitkat and topped with sliced fresh strawberries.

Quick Weight Loss Update

It has been more than a year since the beginning of my weight loss journey. I am now in between 106 to 108 lbs. The good news is.... I have a 28-inch waistline and can now fit in size Small jeans. Proud moment!
